Yuw, I'm putting up a short post on the raid guidelines. Feel free to discuss on the forum.
The first topic is the in-game calendar. This is how it should be used:
* Anyone can put up a new event. But bear in mind that being the raid leader, it is up to you to keep up the good will and positive atmosphere that is the trademark of Canned Heat. Be honest, be fair, be positive.
* If you do not know if you can attend the event - do not Accept.
* If you would like to attend the event, but will not make it on time - do not Accept. I suggest you send raidleader an in-game mail with your wish to attend, but that you cannot accept because of being late. This won't guarantee you a spot later on, but if possible (considering raid composition and how it's going) you will likely get an invite later on.
* If you don't intend to attend the event - Reject
* If you intend to attend the event and if you intend to be on time for the event - Accept. As usual, common-sense applies - for 10man, all 12 dps, 6 healers and 8 tanks who accepted, wont make it in...etc
The raid leader will try to put together a team that has a chance of a nice run. At the raid building time he is the only guy who has the say on who comes and who does not come for the start. When you accepted the raid event in calendar, you have effectively voted him the leader, so let him lead.
As always - raid leader can and should change raid setup when that is required. This means swapping dps, healers and tanks for melee/ranged abilities, cc abilities, dps/hps/damage mitigation abilities. I don't think this will be used a lot, but it will be used. Specially because the guild policy is to always mix in undergeared people. Do not go bananas when you get replaced - because eventually you will get replaced. Going bananas for that is the fastest to get gkicked.
So after reading this, if you are asking yourself, how can we still refuse to be defined as a raiding guild? Because raiding guild means "ooooh shinies" and "gief" and "imba". And I'm kind of like .... fuck that .

Update: You do need to set up TeamSpeak(TS) for raid. The only time we will require TS will actually be on though bosses requiring coordination. Also you'll need it the first few times you will attend a raid with the guild - after you know the the encounters, you can easily skip it for the easy bosses. Now this was about the TS from the what is required point-of-view. But that's like soo not what TS is. I'm hooked on it for listening in on the silly escapades that find their way into the ether. The practical side is - well practical, but the fun part is priceless.
